Meet Some Artists Using BTone

Some of the artists who play and support BTone — whether in the studio, on stage, or in their favorite guitars.

BTone Artist James Buddy Rogers

James Buddy Rogers

Musician & BTone founder

Musician and BTone founder James Buddy Rogers began winding pickups out of necessity — chasing a tone he couldn’t find or afford. After decades on stage, in studios, and under the hood of his own guitars, BTone was born to deliver honest, road-tested sound.

What started as a personal quest for great tone has grown into a brand built for players who care about sound — and value.

Doug Carr

Plays: B94 Legacy & Classic

Doug Carr is a versatile guitarist with deep roots in the local Vancouver music scene. Known for his smooth tone and tasteful playing, he captures the spirit of real musicianship every time he plugs in. Doug plays both the BTone B94 Classic and B94 Legacy sets, combining vintage warmth with the dynamic clarity that defines his sound.

From the stage to the studio, Doug’s tone speaks for itself, and we’re proud to have him as part of the BTone family.

Neil Higgins

Plays: B43 Juiced

Neil Higgins may be a newer face in Vancouver’s music scene, but he’s quickly becoming one of its most exciting players to watch. In just a few short years, he’s made a mark at local jams, sharing stages with everyone from weekend regulars to seasoned touring pros. With every performance, his playing sharpens, his confidence grows, and his voice as a musician becomes clearer.

Since dropping the B43 Juiced pickups into his guitar, Neil has been locking in with a tone that finally feels like his. While BTone can’t make a player better, great tone removes barriers — and Neil is proof of what happens when a musician stops fighting their sound and starts flowing with it. The feedback he’s been getting from fellow players speaks for itself: his progress is real, and his tone is turning heads.

BTone is proud to be part of Neil’s journey as he continues rising through Vancouver’s vibrant music community.

Phil Holden

Plays: B61 honk

Phil Holden is a respected luthier and guitar tech with over 40 years of hands-on experience. Based in the Vancouver music scene, he’s known for his deep knowledge of instruments and his lifelong connection to music. These days, Phil spends much of his time playing bass, bringing a seasoned ear and a genuine love of tone to everything he does.

From the workshop to the stage, Phil stays closely connected to the craft and community, and we’re glad to have him as part of the BTone family.

Anthony Anderson

Plays: B10 Spirit

Anthony is an award-winning guitarist, producer, instructor, and songwriter who has performed and toured with artists across Canada and around the world. His credits include The Partland Brothers, Elise Estrada, Bukola, IAMTHELIVING, Tanika Charles, and Robb Nash.

After hearing James Buddy Rogers’ Strat tone live, Anthony wanted to know what pickups were behind that sound. Once he installed a set of handmade BTone B10 pickups in his Mexican Strat, he said the transformation was immediate.

Anthony now gets the classic Strat tone he had been chasing for years in all five switch positions, and we’re proud to have him as part of the BTone family.
