Guitar Pickup Repair & Rewinds | BTone

Rewind & Repairs

Don't replace your pickup until you know what's wrong. Many pickups with broken coils, damaged leads, or internal faults can be repaired or rewound and brought back to life.

The Problem

When a pickup stops working, the failure isn’t always obvious.

A small break in the coil wire, a bad connection, or internal damage can make a pickup seem dead. Without proper testing, pickups are often replaced when they could have been repaired or rewound.

The Solution

BTone starts with diagnosis.

We test and inspect your pickup to identify the exact issue, then let you know whether it can be repaired or if a rewind is the best option. You get clear answers before any work is done — no guessing, no unnecessary replacement.

WHAT CAN BE REPAIRED?

If your pickup contains a magnet and a coil, there's a good chance it can be repaired or rewound.

Broken lead wires, damaged connections, weak output, dead pickups, broken coil wires, and many internal faults can often be restored with the right diagnosis.

Every repair begins with a thorough inspection. If the pickup can be repaired without a rewind, that's always the preferred option. When the coil itself cannot be repaired, a rewind may be necessary to return the pickup to proper working condition.

Not every pickup requires a rewind—but every pickup deserves a proper diagnosis first.

How It Works

1

Diagnostic

Drop it off or ship your pickup. We test and inspect it to identify the exact issue — whether it’s a simple repair or requires a full rewind.

2

Approval

We explain what’s wrong and what your options are. You decide whether to proceed with a repair or rewind before any work is done.

3

Repair & Return

Once approved, we repair or rewind the pickup. We test the pickup, verify performance, and prepare it for return once work is complete.
