The B54P Jack is a round, warm Precision split-coil built for players who want a softer-edged, vintage-leaning P-Bass voice. It keeps the weight and punch of a split P, but voices it rounder: gentler mids, deep easy lows, and sweet, relaxed highs.
The Jack is the warm, easygoing one. It sits comfortably in the mix with warmth and weight, holding down the groove without fighting for space.

Not every BTone model has an origin story like the B94 that started the company. The B54P Jack simply joins the BTone family: a Precision voice built around its own wind, with heavy Formvar 42 AWG wire, lower tension, and a slower wind speed. It earned its place on the bench and in the mix.

Construction
Hand-wound in Canada using Alnico 5 magnets, heavy Formvar 42 AWG wire, vintage-style fiber flatwork, and cloth push-back leads. Wound at lower tension and a slower 750 rpm wind speed for a rounder, more vintage-leaning voice. Nitro dipped and lightly wax-potted for long-term stability while preserving dynamics and feel.
Coil specs: the neck (E/A) coil is South polarity with a clockwise wind; the bridge (D/G) coil is North polarity with a counter-clockwise wind. Both coils use heavy Formvar 42 AWG wire and Alnico 5 magnets at 0.671 in. magnet height. Bridge DCR is 12.1k with a resonant frequency around 974 Hz.
